Camel Trekking & Night in a Luxury Desert Camp
We begin our desert tour with an early departure from Marrakech, heading south through the majestic High Atlas Mountains and over the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, enjoy photo stops and views of Berber villages.
We continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” and visit the Taourirt Kasbah. From here, the journey leads us into the breathtaking Draa Valley, famous for its endless palm groves and ancient ksour.
By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, your camel awaits for a magical trek through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. After watching the sunset, you’ll arrive at your luxury desert camp for a traditional dinner, Berber drumming, and stargazing. It’s one of the best highlights of this 3-day trip.
After breakfast at the camp, we return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga and drive toward Erfoud, a town known for its fossils and date markets. Then we head north to the dramatic Todgha Gorge, where steep canyon walls reach up to 300 meters. Take a walk along the river and soak in the raw beauty of this natural wonder.
In the afternoon, we continue to the Dades Valley, passing colorful rock formations and scenic villages. You’ll have dinner and overnight at a charming guesthouse nestled in the valley. This part of the itinerary offers the perfect mix of nature, relaxation, and cultural immersion.
On the final day of your 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, we drive along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping to visit the famous Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and iconic film location.
